Thanksgiving – The Giving of the Thanks

As I am charging batteries and setting up my gear for a short day of shooting today I just wanted to jot down a few things that are on my mind.

I have a lot to be thankful for as I wind down another year in the life of Petey Crawford. Again I have had a great year with Penalty Box Productions, and I continue to build momentum going forward. I am currently in Miami prepping to shoot the Melges 32 World Championship. In the airport as I was delayed for 4 hours the other day I started to realize that this will be my 10th World Championship that I have covered. And I recently discovered that number 11 is only about a month away with PBP going down under to cover the Moth Worlds for the 3rd time.

I am thankful for the relationship I have had over the past 10 years with one of my biggest supporters Sailing Anarchy. Their recognition and sometimes downright reluctant acceptance of my visual stylings has helped push me along to where I am today, and we are all on the verge of big things in 2015.

I am thankful for my relationship with Bob Hilier and Line Honors as they have taken great care of me by always suppling me with the freshest kit and helping me build the brand.

I am thankful for the new friends I have met this year and for the ones that have re-entered my life. All of you are special to me and I feel very blessed to have connected and reconnected with all of you.

I am thankful for the friends who went above and beyond in order to provide me with opportunities that have contributed significantly to my success, my well being and more importantly my sanity.

I am extremely thankful that my mom will be around for many more years and that she has beat the odds with her breast cancer diagnosis and a few other related scares. I love you mom, even when you are being a mild pain in the ass.

And if you are reading this sentence I am thankful for you all.

Happy Thanksgiving Yo.
